TENNIS
Programme Overview
We develop confident, rally-ready players through a clear pathway aligned to LTA Youth standards. Training blends technical skill, tactical understanding, and athletic foundations—with personalised feedback in every session so progress is visible and fast.

What we coach
-
Stroke fundamentals: grips (continental/eastern/semi-western), contact point, swing shapes, spin production (topspin/slice), height-depth-direction control.
-
Serve & return: stance and rhythm, trophy position, ball toss, pronation, spin serves (kick/slice as appropriate), return ready position and first-ball quality.
-
Footwork & movement: split step, unit turn, spacing, crossover/side-shuffle/recovery steps, approach patterns and balance through contact.
-
Net game: compact volleys, overheads, approach-and-finish patterns, transition footwork.
-
Tactics & decision-making: rally tolerance, directionals (change cross-court to line), serve +1, building points from neutral/defensive/offensive phases, shot selection under pressure.
-
Doubles craft: positioning, communication, simple signals, poaching, and basic formations to build confidence at the net.
How the programme runs
-
Progressive term plan: weekly themes that build from isolated reps → cooperative rally → live-ball drills → scored point play.
-
Individual targets: each player has simple mid-term and end-of-term check-ins.
-
Feedback tools: live coaching cues, quick video clips where helpful, and short at-home drills to accelerate improvement between sessions.
-
Athletic development: age-appropriate ABCs (agility, balance, coordination), speed & deceleration, shoulder/elbow care, and landing mechanics.
Pathway by stage
-
Red (approx. 3–8): fun games, tracking/throw-hit skills, ready position, simple rallies, scoring basics.
-
Orange (8–10): longer rallies, spin awareness, serve/return patterns, court spacing.
-
Green (10-12): full strokes at increased speed, point patterns, transition to full court.
-
Yellow (12+): weapon development, match tactics, physical robustness and competitive habits.
Formats to suit your player
-
Group sessions (term time): high-energy, small coach-to-player ratios with lots of ball contacts and match play.
-
Individual lessons (1:1 or 1:2): rapid, bespoke improvements—serve mechanics, backhand reliability, movement, or match strategy.
-
Points play and guidance into LTA Youth Matchplay for those ready to compete.
-
Holiday camps: intensive skill blocks and game play to consolidate term learning.
Our goal is simple: skills first, smart decisions second, confidence always—so every child enjoys the game and keeps progressing, whether brand-new to tennis or aiming for competitive play.
Book a term or trial and see the difference.
