Our Story
​
Soul Sports was born out of a simple belief: every child deserves access to high-quality sport, great coaching, and a place to grow.
​
Our founder, who grew up in central London, was fortunate to have parents who took him to sports training every day — after school, on weekends, and everywhere in between. Sport wasn’t an occasional activity; it was a way of life. It shaped his confidence, friendships, resilience, and identity.
​
But as he entered adulthood, spending time around families and children in central London, he noticed something troubling:
many kids in the area didn’t have access to the same opportunities.
Quality after-school sports programmes were limited. Skilled coaches were hard to find. Movement was becoming a privilege rather than a norm.
​
At the same time, children everywhere were facing a new challenge. They were becoming increasingly sedentary, spending more time on screens than outdoors, interacting less with peers, and missing the essential daily play that fuels healthy development. This shift — if left unaddressed — puts the next generation at risk of poorer physical health, weaker social skills, reduced confidence, and higher levels of anxiety.

We are, quite literally, setting children up for lifelong disadvantages if we don’t act now.
Soul Sports was created as a response to this urgent need:
a local, values-driven children’s sports club that puts development, community, and wellbeing at the heart of everything.

Today, just minutes from the founder’s childhood neighbourhood, Soul Sports offers a place where children can move, grow, and thrive — not just as athletes, but as human beings.

To deliver high-quality, engaging, and values-driven sports coaching that helps children move more, build confidence, develop character, grow friendships, and establish strong foundations for physical and mental health — all within a safe, supportive, and fun community.
