Code of Conduct
For Soul Sports Kids Club
Purpose:
This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviours of staff, coaches, volunteers, children, and parents/carers involved in our programmes. It aims to create a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants.
1. FOR STAFF, COACHES, AND VOLUNTEERS
You must:

Always prioritise the welfare and safety of children.

Be role models of good behaviour and professionalism.

Maintain appropriate physical and professional boundaries.

Use positive language, encouragement, and constructive feedback.

Report any concerns about a child’s welfare to the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO).

Respect confidentiality and handle all information responsibly.

Wear appropriate attire and ID while on duty.
You must not:

Engage in any behaviour that could be interpreted as abusive (physical, emotional, sexual).

Use foul language, shout aggressively, or demean children.
-
Take photographs or videos of children without consent.
-
Communicate with children via personal social media or phone.
-
Be alone with a child in private settings (use 2-adult rule).
2. FOR CHILDREN
Children are expected to:

Show respect to coaches, staff, and fellow participants.

Follow instructions and safety rules.
-
Participate positively and try their best.
-
Report anything that makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Unacceptable behaviour includes:

Bullying, teasing, or excluding others.
-
Aggressive or dangerous play.
-
Refusal to follow instructions.
-
Inappropriate language or swearing in any form.
Persistent issues may be discussed with parents and may lead to suspension from activities.
3. FOR PARENTS/CARERS
We expect parents/carers to:

Ensure your child arrives on time and is collected promptly.

Inform staff of any medical, emotional, or behavioural needs.
-
Support our coaches in promoting a positive learning environment.

Treat staff and other parents with respect.
-
Avoid coaching from the sidelines or entering the play area unless invited.
Breaches of this Code will result in appropriate action being taken, including verbal warnings, temporary suspension, or removal from the programme.
